It’s week six of the ORC, and things are heating up. A local charity will pick up the old furniture next week, and everything else is being placed in bins to prepare for the whirlwind of events in the next two weeks. This is also the last week of planning, and from here on out, I’ll be able to share a sneak peek of the installation over the next two weeks. Below are final looks of the before images of this room before it finally gets transformed over the next two weeks.
This week, I wanted to make sure all of the spaces in the room had a design plan. So, I focused on my daughter’s office area, which will serve as a combination between a desk and a vanity. Her old desk was a little too big, her closet door never fully opened, and it was filled with old paper and books. I chose a mid-century modern look to complement the bed and reduce the clutter. The other thing I did since my daughter is a “Swiftie” (I am not), but as a loving and supportive mother, I decided to go for this poster art with twelve 8x12 posters from Amazon that cost $16 and will be a cute wall story above the desk.
Next week the ceiling is going to get repaired by a local handyman. The ceiling plaster is uneven and requires a skim coating process that will take three days to complete. This repair will allow me to finally do the fun stuff, like paint the ceiling purple, put up the wallpaper, and bring in the new furniture.
