What Does Black History Month Mean To You This Year?
This year and every year, Black History Month is a time of reflection and celebration for me. Since becoming a parent, it's always been important for me to ensure my children understand the struggle and sacrifices made by numerous Black people who helped paved the way for us. In addition, I believe Black History Month serves as a great reminder to educate people of all races that Black History is an intergral part of American History. Like many others, I believe Black History should be taught all year long, not just in February.
Lastly, Black History Month is a time to highlight all of the Black excellence we have in our culture from past to present. We are more than just athletes and rappers. We are doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, politicians and so much more! Let's use this month (and every month) to inspire future generations by creating positive worlds and experiences for young, Black youth today.
What is on trend for you in 2020?
Right now I'm really into Eco-friendly products, self-care (eating a well-balanced diet, skincare, hair care and exercise), and connecting more with nature and the outdoors. I'm super passionate about climate change and making an effort to do my part to help the environment whenever I can.
